Variable Colour Technology & Natural Colour View
The “VC” version allows the user to choose between different colour tones (warm, cool, or standard) in the dark shade state. This helps improve contrast of the weld puddle, reduce eye strain, and enhance visibility of the work piece as compared to simpler ADFs.

Excellent Shade Range & Light States
The G5-01VC offers dark shades 8-14 plus “CUT mode” at shade 5, and a light state (shade 3) for visibility when not welding. This wide range allows versatile use for welding, cutting, grinding, and inspection.

Large Viewing Area & Visibility
The viewing area of the welding filter is relatively large (around 73 x 109 mm). Also the front “clear” visor gives a wide, unobstructed view during grinding, setup, and non-welding tasks. The flip-front shell helps with quick transitions.

The helmet is designed for tough environments. It’s compatible with 3M’s Adflo Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) or Versaflo supplied air systems. The 3M™ Adflo™ Powered Air Respirator is a high-performance, battery-powered respiratory safety system designed specifically for welders. When paired with Speedglas™ welding helmets, it provides TH3 protection (nominal protection factor up to 500), safeguarding users from harmful particles and gases encountered during welding processes.
Equipped with a lightweight Li-ion battery and standard charger, the unit offers long operating time (around 7-9 hours under normal conditions) and fast re-charge cycles. The system includes a self-adjusting breathing tube with a Quick Release Swivel (QRS), prefilter, particle filter, spark arrestor, airflow indicator, belt, and charger.
Airflow is adjustable for user comfort, offering a nominal rate of 170 litres per minute, which can be increased to 200 l/min for more demanding conditions (e.g. high heat or humidity). Gas filters (837242 or 837542) and an odour-filter (837110) are available separately.
